Tucker Carlson: Coronavirus “Likely” Originated From Government Lab in Wuhan
“On February 6th, scientists from the South China University of Technology uploaded a paper on the origins of coronavirus. Where did it come from?” Tucker opened. “At the time the official death toll in China from the coronavirus was 564. The paper made a number of notable observations and claims that are worth knowing about and that’s why we are telling you. We want to be clear that we aren’t endorsing any of these conclusions, we haven’t independently confirmed them. We can’t.”
While prior reports traced the coronavirus to bats, Tucker noted that the particular kind of bat the virus had been attributed to aren’t available in Wuhan’s wet markets. “The virus most likely came from an animal known as the intermediate horseshoe bat,” Carlson said, but noted that “there are no known colonies [of the bat] within 900 kilometers of Wuhan”
The aforementioned paper from South China University claims that the coronavirus “likely came” from one of two government labs in Wuhan, Tucker explained. “They noticed that a scientist at the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention had been exposed to the blood and urine of horseshoe bats. They also suggested that infected tissue samples from research animals may have wound up in the Wuhan wet market.”
Or, to quote the paper directly: “The killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan. Safety levels may need to be reinforced in high-risk bio-hazardous laboratories and regulations may be taken to relocate these laboratories far away from city centers and other densely populated places.”
To clarify, Tucker is not accusing the Chinese government of using the coronavirus as a bio-weapon, but rather is theorizing that it made its way out of a lab, which was then covered up by the Chinese government.
