American Thinker Blog: WikiLeaks and the Great Myths of Global Warming

WikiLeaks and the Great Myths of Global Warming
Dennis Ambler
Those who have studied the UN process on "Global Warming" aka Climate Change, know full well that it is little to do with climate but everything to do with advancing the interests of global corporations and international financiers. The WikiLeaks revelations detailed in the Guardian demonstrate the accuracy of that assessment.

The Great Myth revealed in the leaks, is the long held and deliberately promoted belief that the US is opposed to any measures designed to "control climate." Nothing could be further from the truth because behind the scenes it has been promoting and engineering the process for many years, driven by NGO's and their funders, the "eco" billionaires.

The other Great Myth is that the be-all and end-all for climate negotiation is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), when in fact there are numerous private and pseudo-governmental operations taking place all the time, particularly in terms of gaining a foothold in the vast energy markets of China and India.

Only as recently as October, US EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, was in China, on a mission described on the EPA website as "Strengthening US-China Relations to Better Protect the Global Environment."

"Administrator Jackson expressed her desire to continue working with China to achieve cleaner air, fight climate change, and save money through energy efficient measures. [em[hasis added]

Again in October, Congressman Ed Markey was addressing a meeting of GLOBE International, the "Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment." Congressman Markey is the Chairman of the GLOBE International Commission on Climate & Energy Security.

GLOBE's vision is to create a critical mass of legislators within each of the parliaments of the major economies that can agree common legislative responses to the major global environmental challenges and demonstrate to leaders that there is cross-party support for more ambitious action.

All major government policy decisions should be consistent with climate change goals." [emphasis added]

Chancellor Merkel describes it as "a unique environmental forum in which parliamentarians from industrialized countries and the emerging economies get together with business leaders and scientists to develop proposals on how the world can cooperate beyond 2012."

Have members of the public heard of this organization and the time given to it by their politicians? I doubt it.

The IPCC has created such an enormous false paradigm based on computer models, namely that industrialized nations have stolen the developing nations "share of the planet," it is no wonder such nations see it as a license to print money.

However, advocate scientists have built careers on it, financiers and carbon traders are making fortunes out of it, developing nations and Small Island States, advised by NGO's, see it as a source of free money from the West and they want it now.

The main AGW protagonists wish to globalize US energy policy, in order to re-distribute investment to the expanding economies of India and China. Large corporations such as GE already have local facilities there and will receive much of that investment in the form of "clean development money" for the "green" energy projects they are involved with. As GE's Jeffrey Immelt said in June last year, in an article entitled "Jeff Immelt seeks to map out GE's future beyond America":

"We will be a global company with incredible growth prospects outside the US. We will have to explore and decide on our structures and about how we operate the company going forward, there's no doubt about it. We've always been a company that's not been rigid about how we evolve and change.

Our leadership team will be increasingly non-US citizens and will look like the opportunities we face," says Mr. Immelt." [emphasis added]

As the Guardian says, "re-engineering the global economy to a low-carbon model will see the flow of billions of dollars redirected."
