• The New Deal did not solve the economic crisis of the Great Depression. New Deal programs made the economic crisis of the Great Depression deeper and longer.
• The War on Poverty was not victorious over poverty in the United States. The War on Poverty made the problem of poverty worse by incentivizing idleness, dependency, and irresponsibility.
• The War on Drugs did not solve the problem of substance abuse in the United States. Rates of abuse for some drugs are at historic highs right now.
• The Department of Education did not improve schools in the United States. Education results have been declining since the Department of Education was created.
• The Affordable Care Act did not improve health care or make it more affordable. It made health care more expensive while making innovation more difficult.
• The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act didn’t create more competition among banks — it reduced competition and created near monopolies for big national banks — and it doesn’t protect consumers.
All these progressive government programs and institutions have two important things in common:
1. Each failed to achieve the publicly marketed goals.
2. Each was a smashing success when measured by their REAL progressive goals:
• Expand the power and scope of government.
• Expand government control over citizens.
• Restrict the liberty of citizens.
• Take more money from citizens.
• Increase the number of Americans employed by government.
• Increase the number of Americans paying government employee unions.
• Increase the amount of money government employee unions launder and funnel to the political campaigns of progressive politicians.
Understand that the marketing labels and brands of progressive government programs and policies are NEVER what those programs and policies are all about, and you will be truly “woke.”
Ignore the distractions, the empty promises, and the emphases on supposed good intentions over measurable results, while watching government grow and grow and grow -- see that EVERY solution offered by progressives to EVERY problem, real or imagined, requires more government power -- and THAT is taking the red pill and seeing power-hungry progressive politicians for what they truly are.
