SHOCK: Obama Travels to Muslim Nation Hours After Paris Attack, Makes STUNNING Announcement
President Barack Obama’s reaction to the Paris terrorist attacks that
killed 129 innocent civilians has been less than stellar. First, he refused to call the acts Islamic terrorism during his remarks shortly after they occurred.
Now, he’s spending time in Europe’s biggest Muslim nation — Turkey. While there, the president said that he remains committed to helping nations take in Syrian refugees even as investigators in France consider the fact that Islamic State members may have posed as “refugees” and aided in the attack.
“The United States is the largest provider of humanitarian assistance to displaced persons and refugees,” Obama said at the G20 conference in Antalya, Turkey, according to Breitbart.
“(It) stands shoulder to shoulder with Turkey, Europe and others in trying to help those who need help right now, even as we hope to reduce the flow of migrants because of the situation inside Syria.”
So as far at the White House is concerned, the Paris attacks and civilian deaths changed nothing. While Obama said he would continue to import Syrian refugees — the United States has pledged at least 10,000 will come in, and likely more — others in Congress have moved to stop the influx.
Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas released a statement after the Friday attacks advocating a stop — at least temporarily — to migrants from Syria.
“We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States. We need to redouble our efforts to prevent ISIS agents from penetrating our nation by other means,” Cruz said in a statement.
“Such steps, however, are defensive reactions to an enemy that will continue to try to attack us until they succeed once again. We must immediately recognize that our enemy is not ‘violent extremism.’ It is the radical Islamism that has declared jihad against the West.
“It will not be appeased by outreach or declarations of tolerance. It will not be deterred by targeted airstrikes with zero tolerance for civilian casualties, when the terrorists have such utter disregard for innocent life.”
That’s what true leadership sounds like — something Barack Obama is clearly unwilling to provide.
