What John Kerry just said about America is the most disturbing thing I’ve EVER heard him say
If there’s ever been a clear delineation between Constitutional Conservatism and progressive socialism as it relates to the concept of liberty, President Abraham Lincoln gave it to us. He said on April 18, 1864:
The world has never had a good definition of the word liberty, and the American people, just now, are much in want of one. We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name—liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names—liberty and tyranny. However, there’s something even more egregious about the progressive socialist left that truly endangers the future and existence of our Republic.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, “Secretary of State John Kerry took a shot at Donald Trump during his Friday commencement speech at Northeastern University, by saying no wall is big enough to keep dangerous terrorists out of the United States. “Many of you were in elementary school when you learned the toughest lesson of all on 9/11,” he said. “There are no walls big enough to stop people from anywhere, tens of thousands of miles away, who are determined to take their own lives while they target others.”
Kerry also seemed to dismiss the importance of national borders, and said technology has reshaped the world into one that the U.S. must engage at the risk of being left behind. “For some people, that is all they need simply to climb under the sheets, close their eyes and push the world away,” Kerry said. “And shockingly, we even see this attitude from some who think they ought to be entrusted with the job of managing international affairs.”
“The future demands from us something more than a nostalgia for some rose-tinted version of the past that did not really exist in any case,” he said. “You’re about to graduate into a complex and borderless world.”
Just a short history lesson for SecState Kerry if I may… China built a “Great Wall” when they were concerned about the invading Mongolian hordes. Israel built a security wall in order to stem the flow of Islamic terrorism emanating from the Fatah (PLO) controlled territory. Heck, there’s even a wall around the Vatican.
Herein lies the most dangerous and threatening issue about the progressive socialists of the left: they do not believe in America as a sovereign nation with borders to be protected. This is an especially disturbing statement coming from the person who’s supposed to be our standard bearer for America foreign policy and diplomacy. And in full disclosure, I personally believe Kerry should be forced out of the position after thanking the Iranians for taking care of our Sailors that they had on their knees at gunpoint.
Having said that, there’s one point where I do agree with Mr. Kerry in his commencement address to Northeastern University: he stated that poverty is a global challenge. We’re certainly seeing it in America thanks to Barack Obama and his expansion of the poverty state and food stamp rolls. And perhaps Kerry should have been honest and confided to these students that they’re graduating into an America with less opportunity for them and are saddled with an immense debt. I just love it how these progressive socialists never speak truth to power about the actual “State of the Union.”
I’m quite sure SecState Kerry will try to clarify what he said regarding the term “borderless” to relate to a global economy or mass communications systems.
But when you examine the full context, he’s trying to be cute and coy with a backhanded political attack. It’s clear Kerry meant “borderless” in terms of America’s loss of sovereignty. And if America has no sovereignty, it is not America.
Maybe the graduating class of Northeastern University doesn’t accept America as a sovereign Constitutional Republic…and I find it a tragic shame.
I just have to ask, how is it that the state that gave us the Minutemen of Lexington Green and Concord Bridge; the state that gave us the men who made a stand at Breeds/Bunker Hill; the state that gave us men such as John and Samuel Adams, Paul Revere…and women like Abigail Adams now is the state that gives us John Kerry, Barney Frank, and a woman like Elizabeth Warren?
I must thank God the latter weren’t around 240 years ago. We would not have an America folks. When did it all go so wrong in Massachusetts? Here’s a place where championship trophies and banners fly all over the place, especially in the new TD Gardens where the graduation was held.
Yet this past Friday, before the audience attending a major college graduation, the crowd gathered and accepted the drivel of a pathetic defeatist, apologist and surrender chucklehead who doesn’t believe in the very sacrifices for sovereignty, made historically in the city of Boston.
Perhaps today, New England Patriots is indeed nothing more than the name of a football team? Sadly so, because once upon a time it had a meaning quite heroic, distinctive, and distinguished — today it’s just a logo on sports apparel.
Why do I say this? Because John Kerry was welcomed, when he should have been shunned as he’s not in keeping with the honor, courage, and character of the REAL New England Patriots — like Crispus Attucks, Peter Salem, and Colonel’s William Prescott and John Stark.
It was Stark, a New Hampshire Man, who coined the phrase which became the motto of the Granite State — “Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils.”
What will be the motto or legacy of John Kerry, or any of the progressive socialists years from now?
