USDA: Freedom for animals, cages for humans

A recent American Spectator article, Obama's Food Stamp Fetish, began with an ironic quote identified only as "Recent viral e-mail (author unknown)."
The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.
Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.
The article then immediately focused on the economics of food stamps.
If, under "the Keynesian 'positive multiplier' view of welfare," as the USDA claims, "Every $5 in new food stamp benefits generates almost twice as much ($9.20) in total community spending," the way forward is clear.
Simply take every penny in the hands of Americans today and give it to the food stamp program and make every American dependent on food stamps.
According to their logic, every $5 trillion increase in such benefits will generate $9.2 trillion in economic activity. The national debt will be paid off in no time and every human being in America will be fabulously wealthy!
But even that shouldn't be necessary. A believer in Democratic Socialism once asked his libertarian friend, "if one considers a society as a living organism, what is the most essential variable to keep the organism alive?" He then answered his own question as, "The answer is money or wealth. The constant essential is sufficient circulation of that lifeblood from bottom to top and top to bottom, and I do mean SUFFICIENT."
So keep those money printing presses running full blast!
Conclusion: the simple act of circulating money is all that's needed to keep the "living organism" living.
The Democratic Socialist likely didn't consider that money is worthless if nobody creates any real stuff – food, clothing, shelter, potable water – on which to spend the money.
He also didn't respond when told that "society" is a concept, not a "living organism."
But this obviously isn't an Economic Examiner and its opinionizer has little aptitude in economics of any type, so back to that "Recent viral e-mail."
What the USDA is telling us is that animals should live in freedom for the benefit of the animals but humans should live in economically created cages for the benefit of the ruling class.
That's what keeps Democratic Socialist brainwaves circulating.
