Gov. John Hickenlooper to undergo surgery: Top 10 things you should know about it
By Lynn Bartels
Gov. John Hickenlooper will be out of the office for a few days this week after having hip arthroscopy on Tuesday.
His staff decided to have a little fun with the governor and came up with a Top 10 things you need to know about the governor’s surgery (No. 1 is priceless; so is No. 5):
10. It’s always good to catch up on needed rest — even if under anesthesia.
9. One bionic joint at a time.
8. His right side is hurting so bad he opted for a little surgery. His left side can’t be far behind.
7. He’s getting a little hipper.
6. This puts the governor on injured reserve, but we expect him to be ready by mid season for more Peyton Manning passes.
5. This really isn’t surgery. It’s a cover for the governor to have the new Colorado logo tattooed on his leg.
4. All great athletes meet a surgeon at some point.
3. Have you seen him dance? He needs a new hip.
2. This guarantees the governor a seat in the sag wagon for Pedal The Plains.
1. Even though it’s easy to put one’s foot in one’s mouth, repeated attempts eventually take a toll on the hips.
