Cliven Bundy to Harry Reid: Why are you calling for a civil war?

While appearing on Monday's edition of Fox News' "Hannity," Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher at the heart of a dispute with the Bureau of Land Management, asked why Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is calling for a civil war, Newsmax reported. Bundy appeared on the program to respond to overheated rhetoric from the left which has now prompted some to call for drone strikes against the ranch.
"Why, Harry, are you calling for a civil war?" Bundy asked. "That's not what we the people want. We just want to disarm the army, and get out of our state, and start acting like citizens of the United States."
Although some of Bundy's supporters are members of various milita groups and had weapons, Bundy said it was federal agents who had guns drawn on them during a standoff earlier this month. Photos from video taken by one of Bundy's sons clearly showed snipers deployed against the ranch.
Bundy indicated that Reid, who called supporters of the ranch "domestic terrorists," will continue to make noise. He called on members of Congress to rein Reid in before things escalate even further.
"I'm calling on the United States Congress to pull Harry in and straighten him out," Bundy said. "I don't believe you people would call us terrorists, and I don't believe you should allow Harry to run free and loose anymore. His mouth needs to be kept quiet, and you people need to do it. It's not my job. It's your job to rein him in a little bit."
Reid is not the only Democrat who has ratcheted up the violent rhetoric against Bundy. Appearing on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Donna Brazile compared Bundy to Timothy McVeigh, the man who blew up the Oklahoma City federal building in the 1990s. Unlike McVeigh, Bundy has not blown anything up nor has he killed anyone.
Far-left wing sites like the George Soros-funded Media Matters have also pushed the liberal mantra that Bundy is a "freeloader" and a "criminal," egging supporters into fits of rage. According to Media Matters, anyone who allows Bundy to tell his side of the story is engaging in "irresponsible" journalism.
As we reported earlier today, liberals on Twitter, apparently eager for bloodshed, demanded the federal government wipe out the ranch and supporters with drone strikes. Those messages, no doubt, are the result of irresponsible statements by Reid and others who apparently have no problem with federal agents deploying snipers against people who simply owe grazing fees.
Over the weekend, Alabama blogger Mike Vanderboegh issued what he called the "2014 Jenny Award Trophy for Incitement to Civil War" to Harry Reid for his comments. Judging from the comments and accusations from left wing sites, it seems Vanderboegh should consider issuing a few more trophies.
