No Joke: Pelosi Says GOP Tax Bill Is Worse Than Slavery

In a last-ditch effort to criticize the GOP’s tax reform bill, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said the Republican measure was the worst bill to ever be passed in the United States Congress.
“I have said that this was stiff competition by some of the other things they have put forth, is the worst bill in the history of the United States Congress,” Pelosi said Tuesday during a House floor debate on the tax measure, according the The Hill.
Pelosi’s argument, in her own words, is that passing the largest tax cut in nearly 30 years is worse than the government supporting slavery more than 100 years ago.
The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, arguably the worst measure ever approved — and a major cause of the Civil War — was passed by the U.S. Congress on Sept.18, 1850. Among other deplorable items, it required American citizens to assist in the capture of escaped slaves, even if they were living in free states. Naturally, the Democrat Party was behind it.
So to Nancy Pelosi, the Republican tax reform of 2018 is apparently even worse than slavery.
Pelosi’s comments were sick and vile, and her justification for making such a claim were even more despicable.
“Now, how can I make that claim? Well, because it involves more money, hurts more people, increases the deficit by so much more, and just because everything is bigger in our country,” Pelosi said.
The bill passed the Senate late Tuesday night by a vote of 51-49, but had to go back to the House for another vote Wednesday morning after Democrats identified a procedural issue with the bill.
It passed the House again on Wednesday by a vote of 224-201, according to Politico. It is now going to President Donald Trump to be signed into a law, giving the president his first major legislative victory of the year.
According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, 80.4 percent of taxpayers will get a tax cut next year under the GOP bill, with the average cut being $2,140.
But none of that was reported by Pelosi as she was too busy propagating leftist talking points that the GOP bill is worse than the federal government and American citizens capturing and returning escaped slaves to the bonds of captivity.
The final version of the bill also guts Obamacare’s individual mandate, which penalized Americans who didn’t sign up for health insurance. That, Pelosi argued, would lead to the end of the world.
“No, it is the end of the world. The debate over health care is life and death. This is Armageddon,” she said.
Nevertheless, the GOP tax bill will allow many Americans to keep more of their own money, help grow our already booming economy and create more jobs.
Pelosi should be ashamed of herself for making such disturbing comments.
