The Leftist Long Game

Here at Super Bowl time, let’s talk about the “long game” — no, not the long game on the gridiron, the political
long game that the American left wing is playing (and increasingly
winning) against the right. It’s a multi-decade effort to transform
America into a socialist nation, and it’s happening in plain view while
many Americans’ eyes are fixated on football (Karl Marx said that
religion was the opiate of the masses, but I say it’s professional
sports!).
When you hear Americans opposing a physical barrier to
prevent outsiders from entering our home without first queuing up,
announcing themselves, requesting permission to enter, and being
positively identified and vetted, do you ever wonder why any American in
his/her right mind would oppose that? If so, you’ve come to
the right person — I can tell you that there actually are two types of
sane Americans who want open borders.
The first type’s motives are narrow and misguided but relatively pure. In their minds, compassion, charity, Christianity, etc. demand that we welcome anyone and everyone who wants to enter our home — whether those guests phone ahead, show up on our front doorstep and wait for us to answer the doorbell, or break a window and sneak in — notwithstanding any risks thereby posed to the safety and security of our home’s preexisting residents.
The second type’s motives are less about piety and more about power. In their minds, social “justice” is synonymous with social-ism (so long as they then wield the authority to distribute the nation’s resources). But, despite having decisively dominated our nation’s educational institutions, entertainment industry, and news media, they’ve been frustrated by their failure to decisively dominate our electorate (yet).
Hence, they’ve mounted a “drive” for electoral dominance which involves running a highly-disciplined series of plays designed to recruit new Americans, who will then become new voters, who will then be beholden to socialists, who will then vote for socialist candidates/policies, and who, ultimately, will help create a new, socialist America. Now, from where might they come? Well, one key source lies south of the U.S. border with Mexico.
Play #1: let people cross that border with abandon. Play #2: give them things (food, housing, healthcare, education…). Play #3: count them in the census (which, regardless of whether they’re citizens, affects Congressional districting and thus, the apportionment of representation in our government). Play #4: grant them a “pathway to citizenship,” i.e., “voter-ship.” And Play #5: remind them constantly whom they owe.
The end game, of course, is to rack up their votes, and any injuries
sustained by American citizens in the process are simply hazards of the
game, “collateral damage.” And while President Trump at least seems to want to mount an effective defense against this particular drive, he hasn’t even fielded a defense against a second, similarly-designed series of plays which started scoring points for socialists late last year.
Another source of new American voters is our prisons. Hence, Play #1 of this second “drive”: enact so-called “criminal justice reform” legislation (which President Trump obliviously signed), and get legions of felons out of prison early. Play #2 (already in motion in key electoral battlegrounds like Florida): restore their voting rights post-release. And Play #3: again, remind them constantly whom they owe.
The end game is the same — to rack up votes — and again, the harm which will come to law-abiding Americans will simply be “for the greater good.” So, unlike the one on Sunday, this long game matters, and while President Trump and others on the right seem willing and able to play defense to varying degrees, unless far more Americans start putting (proverbial) skin into it, socialists will reach the electoral end zone increasingly, and potentially invariably.
