Syria Mocks Obama, Calls Him “Weak”
Americans continue to criticize Pres. Barack Obama for his indecision on Syria, but now even Syrians are beginning to mock him.
Syria’s government newspaper Al Thawra mocked the president for his indecision and called it a sign of weakness in an issue that ran yesterday. The article said this is “the start of the historic American retreat,” and criticized Obama for hesitating due to a “sense of implicit defeat and the disappearance of his allies.”
Faisal Mekdad, Syria’s deputy foreign minister said, “It is clear there was a sense of hesitation and disappointment in what was said by President Barack Obama yesterday. And it is also clear there was a sense of confusion, as well.”

National Coalition called Obama “a weak president who cannot make the right decision when it comes to such an urgent crisis,” and noted that the Coalition expected Obama to act more resolutely and quicker.
So what decision will Obama make? He’s now stated that he’ll wait for Congress’ opinion early next week—a decision praised by proponents of democracy, but certainly not a timely one.
