Breaking News: Congressional Rally To Ban The Muslim Brotherhood
Exclusive Just In -Compiled with the collaboration of a team of counterterrorism experts, lawyers and former prosecutors, the draft legislation makes the case that the Muslim Brotherhood is not only directly responsible for numerous acts of terrorist violence, but that the MB is the ideological parent of all modern jihadi terrorist groups, including Al Qaeda and Hamas.Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, with the co-sponsorship of seven other House Representatives, released a bill to finally designate the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).
The bill argues that the Muslim Brotherhood meets those requirements, has close ties to Hamas and al-Qaeda, both of which have been designated by the United States as FTO’s for years, and is guilty of “numerous acts of terrorist violence” it its own right.
The organization’s motto–”Jihad is our way”–would also seem to argue for its inclusion on the FTO list.
To add any group to the FTO list via legislation is unusual. Normally, organizations are added to the list by executive order. Hamas, for example, was added by President Bill Clinton in 1995. Nonetheless, we support this bill for two reasons.
