Five Colorado lakes you probably never knew exsisted

Five Colorado lakes you probably never knew exsisted

Some of the most beautiful Lakes on the face of the planet located right here in our backyard.

Lake Isabelle.

Lake Isabelle is located 2.1 miles from the Long Lake Trailhead in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. It lies at treeline in a spectacular alpine valley framed by NavajoApache and Shoshoni peaks.

Alpine Lake.

The Gunnison National Forest covers 1,665,121 acres of land and is located a little west of central Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. There are fifty-four developed campgrounds of which twenty-six met the selection criteria.

Leviathan Lake.

near Telluride, Colorado

Leviathan Lake is a high alpine lake that is very hard to access. It is a very hard 15-20 mile hike to get here. Make sure you bring along a good map and a compass.

Island Lake.

Located in an area 12,400 feet above sea level, this incandescent body of water is a glacial lake that is usually surrounded by snow. Near the town of Silverton in San Juan National Forest, a lot of hikers pass this body of deep blue water as they proceed toward their intended summit.

Dream Lake.

At 9,912 feet, the hike to Dream Lake is a 1.1 mile walk in the park compared to the first three on the list. Dream Lake is in the Rocky Mountain National Park nearby the city of Estes Park. Although this is a very easy hike, the lake is as awe inspiring as any other on the list.
