Economist is correct in recognizing the danger. And surely Republicans
cannot be so obtuse in offering such loyalty. Soon we all will vote.

Republicans have not lost sight of the importance of civility that must
be demonstrated by our leaders, especially as we expect of one who
would serve as our president.
Surely
Republicans repudiate anyone who acts so boorishly as the man currently
in the White House. Surely Republicans everywhere will push for
individuals of character and integrity, and for individuals who deal
faithfully with facts, to come forward and offer leadership.
Surely
Republicans recognize that loyalty to the law and principle are more
important than loyalty to an individual who does not understand loyalty
to truth or law.
Surely
Republicans will bring forward individuals who will speak truth to
falsehood and will fairly embrace all in this diverse and creative
country.
Surely voting
Republicans will opt to seat individuals who recognize that America is
great because of the strength and character of its people, where
education, a strong economic system, separation of political powers,
judicial independence, and a free press all contribute.
Surely
Republicans recognize ours as a welcoming nation, one fearlessly
engaged with the rest of the world in promoting democracy, peace and
justice.
Surely ...
