America Will Be Brought To Her Knees, In Prayer Or In Ruin

I know that I view the world through a whole different prism than somebody who is half my age or younger. Things that didn't cross my mind a few decades ago seem terribly important to me now. Living through a world war, the Iron Curtain, the threat of nuclear annihilation, recessions, booms, Jim Crow days, civil rights struggle and the explosive growth of modern technology gives me a different slant on things than someone born in the last half century.
I remember a time when the nation didn't find out who had won a presidential election until the wee small hours, or in some cases, the day after the votes were cast. There were always those who were pleased with the outcome and those who were unhappy about it.
But no matter which side won there was always the prevailing attitude and belief that America would survive, that whoever was in power could not do enough damage in four years that it could not be righted in the next election cycle, that the ship of state would sail on, no matter who was at the helm.
That has been my fervent belief all my life, that no one man or party was powerful enough to break the United States of America badly enough that it couldn't be fixed, that nobody would allow our nation to become sick enough that it would not be made well again once the healing process began.
I have lately had to rethink my position.
I am desperately afraid that our nation is rapidly reaching the point of no return, and believe me I do not make that statement lightly. I am simply not a doom and gloom person; I choose to look for silver linings in the darkest of clouds and have made barrels of lemonade out of the lemons life has presented me with.
Even in the darkest days of World War II when the battle was going badly and the casualty lists were high, America never doubted that we would be successful, that no matter what happened, somehow, some way, we would prevail, and that belief and that commitment bonded us together and created a united spirit of,” we’re all in this together and we will stay the course together no matter what the cost."
It seems to me that the present administration is determined to destroy any spirit of togetherness Americans have retained and replace it with a "we are all in this for ourselves" attitude. This nation is not just divided, it is fragmented and growing worse by the day as Obama pours fuel on the fire by making statements like "Clinging to God and guns"' painting a whole segment of the population as a gaggle of narrow-minded fanatics, providing fodder for the "intelligencia" to belittle a group of people they neither appreciate nor understand, while those of us who unashamedly do cling to our God and our guns stand defiantly by our beliefs.
Obama's "You didn't build that" comment is meant to foment class envy, to make any “have not” believe that any “have” has stolen their wealth and that they should have to pay their "fair share" of their earnings to the general welfare of those who think the world owes them a living.
The Democratic Party has basically turned their collective backs on God - refusing to even mention His name in their platform, until public opinion drove them to a half-hearted and downright embarrassing reinstatement - embraced same-sex marriage, profligate spending and big government in an effort to cobble together a coalition of racial and fringe groups, knowing that much of Main Street America will not be attracted to their radical platform.
The national debt has just rolled over to $16,000,000,000,000, sixteen trillion dollars and grows larger by the second.
A nation that cannot pay its debts is bound for fiscal ruin and chaos.
A nation who turns it's back on its Creator is a nation that cannot and will not stand.
A house divided will fall.
America will be brought to her knees, I only hope it will be in prayer, not in ruin.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops, and for our country.
God bless America
