The Democratic Star Of Abortion Rights Should PROBABLY Know What She's Talking About.
Written by DaisyYa'll remember Wendy Davis, don't you? She's the Democratic poster-chick for abortion rights. The chick who the Democrats hand-picked to shove on the Texas Senate floor, with her blonde hair and pink tennies and catheter?
She was called a "hero" to women, dontchaknow.
Well, she was "asked this week to explain the difference between the late-term abortions she fought to keep legal in Texas and the illegal killings by Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell."
And you want to take a gander at what her response was?
Here you go:
“I don’t know what happened in the Gosnell case,” she told the Weekly Standard’s John McCormack, who cornered her after her National Press Club speech on Monday.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeah. She doesn't KNOW.
The
legislator who is was put in charge of representing Democrats for the
11-hour filibuster on the Texas state Senate floor. The Senator who is
supposed to be the poster-woman for abortion rights - she didn't KNOW
what happened in the Gosnell case, y'all.
This
is weird, considering that most people who aren't freaking pro-abortion
SENATORS - most people who have access to a flipping smart phone
- know what happened in the Gosnell case at this point. So don't you
think someone in her position would do a little homework about that
particular case? Don't you think she'd take about ten minutes to maybe
do a little Googling on that?
She
continued with this doozy...which makes anyone who knows ANYTHING about
what happened at the Gosnell house of horrors shake their heads in
amazement at what a complete uninformed, clueless sheep she really is:
"But I do know that [Gosnell] happened in an ambulatory surgical center. And in Texas changing our clinics to that standard obviously isn’t going to make a difference.”
Um, NO.
According to the Gosnell grand jury report (PDF), “The abhorrent conditions and practices inside Gosnell’s clinic [were] directly attributable to the Pennsylvania Health Department’s refusal to treat abortion clinics as ambulatory surgical facilities.” In December 2011, the governor of Pennsylvania signed a law inspired by the Gosnell tragedy requiring exactly that. This legislation was opposed by the pro-abortion rights forces in Pennsylvania, but had the full-throated support of Democratic state Rep. Margo Davidson, whose 22-year-old cousin died from a botched abortion at Gosnell’s clinic. Davidson rejected the claims that abortion clinics didn’t need additional regulation and oversight to ensure safety. Three former Planned Parenthood employees who have acted as whistleblowers in Delaware also have rejected this claim. They have testified twice before the Delaware legislature to call for stricter regulations of clinics to protect women after witnessing horrors one compared to Gosnell’s clinic. Wendy Davis should call them.
And then there's that pesky fact (which Democrat women ignore vehemently - STILL) that a majority of women do NOT support late-term abortions. The majority of Americans do
NOT support late-term abortions. In fact, most of us find them
repulsive. Just ask us. Or look at polls and data or whatnot (again, I
think that requires Googling, and, well, you know...). Davis says that
"I…think that a lot of people don’t really understand the landscape of what’s happening in that arena today....”
But in reality, it's Wendy Davis who obviously doesn't understand what in the hell she's talking about "in that arena today..."
But pink tennis shoes and catheters and blonde hair! OMG!
War on Women, indeed.
